Our Client
Our client was a new self-storage operator, setting up a hybrid facility on an industrial estate in a semi-rural location outside a provincial town. They required a security system that would allow them to operate on a fully remote basis, with all aspects of the solution delivered, installed and commissioned by one supplier.
The Securus Solution
We worked with the client to design a system that met their needs and enabled them to open for their customers within their planned timescales. The system comprised:
- Open Tech Alliance Access Control provision to the main entrance and exit points for customers with access control managed using a bluetooth App, PIN codes, proximity readers or a combination of each;
- An IP Based CCTV system, providing comprehensive coverage of the different zones within the facility and accessible remotely via web browser or App;
- Internal door unit alarms;
- A series of smart Latches including an Open Net mesh network;
- Remote monitoring of the unit alarms and CCTV system through a Remote Monitoring Service to provide “out of hours” keyholder response.
- Ongoing service plan covering the Open Tech Alliance system, with working hours telephone support, annual onsite maintenance and servicing, call Point SIM card charges included and a remote CCTV monitoring and keyholder response service.
We produced a system design plan covering all of the different zones and requirements, creating the most efficient approach to providing 100% visual coverage alongside the physical security measures deployed.
Technology Used
We used a range of technology to work alongside the Open Tech Alliance solution, including:
- 4MP Turret IP Cameras with IR illumination for low light level functionality;
- 4MP Bullet IP Cameras with IR illumination for low light level functionality;
- A 32-channel 12TB NVR Recorder to provide on-site recording and live camera feed to an on-site office monitor;
- CIA 501 and CIA 502 keypads to control various automated gates and roller shutters
- A 32” Monitor wall mounted monitor
- A total of 87 Open Tech Smart locks for individual unit doors, with an Insomniac Open Net open communications mesh network;
- Access to and configuration of the Storage Genie App for tenants to manage their units
Outcome
The site opened on time and our client has a fully-operational security and access control solution for their self-storage facility that can be monitored and operated remotely with an ongoing maintenance solution to ensure it properly serviced and maintained.
